Hattrich Named PBC Pitcher Of The Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Having played a key role in securing No. 8 UNCP's three-game series sweep of Anderson over the weekend, senior reliever Brantley Hattrich has been named this week's Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Hattrich, a Matthews native, struck out seven of the 15 batters he faced in Sunday's series finale with the Trojans after inheriting a 7-6 deficit and a bases-loaded jam in with one out in the fourth. The only baserunner he allowed reached on an error to start the fifth and he gave up no walks. He also struck out the side – all looking – in the sixth.
Hattrich has made 38 appearances (1 start) during his three-year career in Pembroke and has booked a 6-1 record, a 1.38 earned run average and three combined shutouts over that span. In 65-2/3 innings of work, he has struck out 78 batters and walked just 18.
