DeLoatch Named PBC Freshman Of The Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – After putting the finishing touches on a 2-0 start to his collegiate career on Saturday against Salem International, freshman southpaw Jordan DeLoatch has been named this week's Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

DeLoatch, a Greenville native, yielded just one hit and one walk in seven innings from the mound against the Tigers and helped the Braves clinch the weekend series with a 14-0 win in the back half of Saturday's series-opening doubleheader. He struck out six and faced just two batters over the minimum, including sitting down the side in order in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. He retired the last 11 batters he faced in the outing as well.

DeLoatch and the Braves (8-0) will be back in action again on Wednesday when the squad heads to Hartsville, S.C., to take on Coker (4-5) in a midweek contest at Tom J. New Field. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
