Braves Dip To 20th In Latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll

SAVANNAH, Ga. – On the heels of dropping its second-straight Peach Belt Conference series of the season on Monday, the bad news continued for the UNCP baseball team as the Braves dropped five spots to No. 20 in the latest top-30 poll by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The Braves (14-5) are one of six NCAA Southeast Region teams included in this week's listing and join fellow PBC squads Columbus State (No. 10), North Georgia (15) and USC Aiken (T-17) in the latest edition of the rankings. Tusculum (12) and Catawba (23) were also included in this week's top-30 poll.

UNCP held steady at No. 5 in the CollegeBaseballLineup.com top 30 poll that was released late Sunday evening.

The Braves will open up a four-game road trip on Wednesday when they make the short trek up U.S. 74 to battle region rival Wingate (10-11) in a 6 p.m. contest at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field.
