20 Questions With Football’s Travis Daniels

UNCPBraves.com sat down with senior running back Travis Daniels to learn of his opinion on a variety of topics ranging from the coolest place he has competed at to how he wants to be remembered when he leaves Pembroke. The following 20 questions are a part of a continuing feature at your official Internet home for UNCP athletics.

The Washington native was named to the third team all-Super Region 2 squad by Don Hansen's Football Gazette and earned first team all-NCAA Independent honors from D2Football.com after a sophomore season that saw him play in all 11 games for UNCP with eight starts to his credit. He also became the first running back in program history to cross the 1,000-rushing yard plateau and was named UNCP's Offensive and Team MVP.

This season, Daniels has played in five games and scored eight touchdowns for the Braves along with totaling 774 rushing yards to average 154.8 yards per game. In the second game of the season against Chowan, he carried the ball 24 times for 247 yards, eclipsing his own school record of 213 yards (25 carries) set in a 41-34, double-overtime victory at Fayetteville State in 2009.

Daniels carried the ball a career-high 33 times for 127 yards and a touchdown – his third 100-yard rushing output in as many game – which was a team-best against Wingate this season. In the victory over Glenville State, he rushed for a program-best four scores after entering the game as nation's No.1 rusher. Daniels has rushed for more than 100 yards in all five games this season and set a new career-best in pass receptions with four and receiving yards with 98 as well as his first career touchdown reception last week against Catawba.

If I Could Trade Places With Someone For A Day, It Would Be: My father, because I would want to experience the life he lives and see first-hand the struggles he faces every day. 

Coolest Place I Have Competed At: Webber International because I had never visited Florida before and it was nice.

Who Would Portray You In The Movie About Your Life: My little brother, Daquan, because he looks and acts like me.

What I Love Most About UNCP: I love the school spirit and the closeness of the community.

My Advice To Youngsters Would Be: Get involved in extracurricular activities, stay out of trouble and keep your grades up.

How Do You Want People At UNCP To Remember You?: I want people at UNCP to remember me as a hard worker and an easy-going person to be around.
