High School
Played for North Edgecombe HS where he is the all-time leading scorer for the Warriors. During his senior season he averaged 21 points and seven rebounds per game while also dishing out four assists and tallying three steals per contest. Cooper earned Area Player of the Year honors his senior season while also earning All-Conference, Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, and Team MVP honors during his final campaign. NEHS won back-to-back conference championships over the course of his junior and senior years while finishing second in the 1A state playoffs his junior year.
