Braves, Athletes In Action To Meet In Exhibition Matchup
PEMBROKE – The UNCP men's basketball squad, fresh off exhibition matchups at West Virginia and Winthrop, will switch their guest hat for one of the host variety on Thursday when they host Athletes in Action in a exhibition matchup at 7:30 p.m. at the English E. Jones Center.
The game will serve as the final tune-up for the Braves before their regular season home opener on Sunday when they will face off against Johnson & Wales (N.C.).
Athletes in Action is an evangelical Christian sports ministry that works with athletes and coaches to use the unique platform of sport to help people around the world with questions of faith. Athletes in Action basketball teams play throughout the world and have shared their testimonies with millions of people.
The squad that will face off against UNCP features six players that have played professional basketball overseas, and all are former collegiate basketball players.
