Morrison Cards 81 On Day Two Of NCAA II Southeast Regional

POOLER, Ga. – UNC Pembroke’s Matt Morrison began day two of the NCAA II Southeast Men’s Golf Regional with a triple-bogey followed by two birdies as the sophomore from Hope Mills, N.C. tallied an 81 on Tuesday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.

Morrison stands tied for 37th, dropping five spots from day one despite improving his round by three strokes. He shot a 41 (+5) on his first nine holes followed by a 40 (+5) on his last nine.

USC Upstate’s Baxter Culler (77, 72) moved into first place after shooting the only even-par round of the regional. Columbus State’s Christian Ries stands alone in second after carding 75 on both days.

CSU is currently first on the team leaderboard, eight strokes ahead of second-place Lander. The Cougars have had four of their five participants in the top-10 of the individual leaderboard. Upstate is now 14 strokes of the pace set by Columbus.

The Southeast Regional will conclude tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Morrison is set to tee-off at 8:09 a.m. with Hugh Morrison of Presbyterian and Colby Price of North Greenville College.
