Braves In Fifth At Bobcat Invitational
EATONTON, Ga. – The UNCP men's golf team shot a team round of 297 to finish day one of the 2010 Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College at the Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee Golf Course on Monday finishing one stroke away from tying for third place at the event.
West Florida and Lynn University tied for first place at the event shooting as each shot a team round of 289. Florida Southern and Columbus State each shot 296 to tie for third with Pembroke sitting a stroke back in fifth place.
UNCP's Parker Houston and Scott Lambert tied for 16th with each shooting a three-over-par 73 in the opening round. Jordan Walor tied for 21st after carding a 74 while Jonathan McCurry and Carson Lanier tied for 48th after each posted a 77.
Rollins College's Colin Dolph sits atop the individual leaderboard after recording an even-par 70 to lead all players. Six other golfers are tied for second at one-over-par.
The Braves will finish the tournament tomorrow looking for their fourth top-5 finish of the year.
