Mullmann, Walor Lead Braves On Day Two Of NCAA Super Regional

CONOVERMichael Mullmann shot a 3-under-par 69 and all-American Jordan Walor carded a 1-under-par 71 to help the Braves climb into a tie for third place after day two of the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa on Tuesday afternoon.

Walor (-3) registered a subpar round for the second-straight day and is tied for fourth place - just three strokes off the pace set by individual leader Jeff Evanier (-6) of Eckerd. Mullman's (+3) banner day helped the sophomore jump 53 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 28th place, while Carson Lanier leaped 19 spots into a tie for 22nd place with a 1-over-par 73 on Tuesday. Jonathan McCurry (+6) sits in a tie for 49th place after a 4-over-par 76 on day two, while Scott Lambert (+11) is tied for 89th place following a 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday.

The Braves (+8) combined to record the best round of the day (288) and used the outburst to ascend into a tie for third place alongside second-ranked Barry and 14th-ranked USC Aiken. No. 21 Georgia College (+4) is atop the team leaderboard following a 1-over-par 289 on Tuesday, while day-one leader Florida Tech (+5) fell to second place after a 7-over-par performance in the second round.

The final round of the 54-hole event is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday on the par-72, 7,064-yard Jones Course at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa. Tee times are set to begin at 7:30 a.m.

The top-five teams and the top-two student-athletes not with an advancing team will earn a berth into the finals, May 15-19, at The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky., as part of the 2012 Division II Spring Championships Festival.
