Wednesday Matchup With Wingate Cancelled
WINGATE – The UNCP men's soccer matchup with the Wingate Bulldogs initially scheduled for Wednesday evening has been canceled due to poor field conditions, Wingate and UNCP officials announced Wednesday morning.
The game, originally scheduled to start at 7 p.m. was cancelled due to a considerable amount of rainfall that has accumulated over the past few days which has made the field at the WU Soccer Complex unplayable.
The game will not be rescheduled for the 2011 season and the Braves (8-3-1, 1-2-1 PBC) will now look to Saturday's battle with Peach Belt Conference rival Clayton State (7-4-0, 2-2-0) in Morrow, Ga. with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
