Men Take Gold at UNCP Invitational

LUMBERTON – Freshman Pardon Ndhlovu led the way as the UNCP men's cross country team topped all teams at the UNCP Invitational on Saturday morning at Luther Britt Park.

Ndhlovu placed first in 25:26.33 in the 8K race. He was followed by sophomore Christian Wiscovitch who was the second Brave to cross the finish line and sixth overall in 27:37.97. Freshman Daniel Yeakley rounded off the top 10 and finished third for the Braves in 28:17.64.

UNCP won the team competition with 40 points, holding second place Winston-Salem State to 53 points. Third place went to Wingate with 61 points.

The Black and Gold will travel to Wilmington next weekend to compete in the UNC Wilmington/Adidas Seahawk Invitational. The race is set to start at 6 p.m.
