20 Questions With UNCP Senior Pitcher Jamie Burwell
Any Significance To The Number On Your Jersey?: There is actually no meaning to the number 1. I wanted #5 my freshman year, but someone in a higher class had it already. After my freshman year I could have had it, but I got attached to my number and didn't want to change it.

Youngest Childhood Memory: Getting stung by bees. My brother dared me to throw a rock at a bees nest and I did. At the time I had a bathing suit on and got stung over 50 times. The reason I remember that so well is because it hurt, but it is also when I knew that I wanted to prove people wrong when they said that I can't do something.
The Thing I Enjoy Most About Game Day: Game days always give me the butterflies in my stomach, but that is one thing I love because I can feel the passion I have for the game. I also love the way the field looks when it is lined and ready to go. My favorite part however, is the feeling after I play from being dirty to the accomplishment of doing great things.

I am interested in the way life works scientifically, and it also to me helps strengthen my faith in God. There are many times in my classes where my teachers have had no explanations for why things work, or what happened in certain parts of evolution and I always think about what God was doing.
Favorite Pro Sports Teams: My favorite MLB team is the Braves because that is who my Grandaddy and Grandma always watched.
