Lady Braves Finish Fourth At PBC Championships

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – All-conference standouts Katja Dammann and Christina Crovetti each posted finishes in the top 10, while UNCP booked a fourth place team finish at the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Women's Golf Championships on Tuesday afternoon at the par-71, 5,860-yard Lake View Course at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Dammann (78-78/156) posted a 7-over-par 78 in both rounds of the event to finish in second place, while Crovetti (81-79/160) improved her round one score by a pair of strokes to grab sixth-place honors. PBC Freshman of the Year Shauna Walor (87-85/172) finished in 15th place, while Alexa Mooney (89-90/179) concluded the event in a tie for 17th place.

Flagler (+92) trailed for much of the final round, but made a late run to grab the PBC team title, Armstrong Atlantic was three shots off the pace in second place, and Montevallo finished six strokes back in third place. Columbus State (+199), in its first year of competition, was a distant fifth place and North Georgia (+254) rounded out the field in sixth.

The Braves will now wait out NCAA Regional Invites which are set to be unveiled on Monday afternoon (April 26).
