Moore Named PBC Women's Golfer of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – UNCP sophomore
golfer Meghan
Moore, fresh off leading her team to a second-place
finish at the Patsy Rendlemen Invitational on Tuesday, was named
the Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week this week, the
league office announced Thursday.
Moore, a Durham native, was one of only three players in the field
to shoot two rounds of 74 or less as she tied for fourth at the
Patsy Rendleman Invitational. She shot back-to-back rounds of
74 for a four-over-par 148, just one stroke out of third and two
out of second in the 15-team tournament. Her fourth-place
finish is her third of fourth or better in four events this
fall. Moore is currently third in the PBC with a 75.9 stroke
average.
This is the first Women's Golfer of the Week award for Moore and
the Lady Braves have captured three of the five awards so far this
season after teammate Katja
Dammann earned two consecutive awards on Sept. 23 and
Oct. 7.
The Lady Braves appeared as the 10th-ranked team in NCAA Division
II on Wednesday on Golfstat.com's head-to-head rankings, and will
return to action in February for the spring portion of their
2010-2011 schedule.
