20 Questions With Golf’s Shauna Walor
UNCPBraves.com sat down with junior golfer Shauna Walor to learn of her opinion on a variety of topics ranging from the most famous person she ever met to how she wants to be remembered when she leaves Pembroke. The following 20 questions are a part of a continuing feature at your official Internet home for UNCP athletics.
Walor, a Wake Forest native, had a 79.4 strove average through 21 rounds of competition this past season. She also helped the Lady Braves to tie for second at the PBC Championships a few weeks ago. She had two top-five finishes, four top-10 and eight top-20 finishes during her junior year. During her career at UNCP, Shauna has a 79.5 stroke average through 64 rounds of golf.
As a freshman, Shauna was named PBC Freshman of the Year and second team All-PBC. She finished seventh in the PBC with an 82.1 stroke average through 20 rounds of competition. As a sophomore, she was named first team All-PBC and to the PBC All-Tournament Team. Shauna finished third on the team and fourth in the PBC with a 77.4 stroke average through 23 rounds of competition and was also named PBC Women's Golfer twice during her sophomore year.

Most Famous Person I've Met: My high school won a contest and the prize was to have Lady Antebellum to come to school and sing for us. This is when Lady Antebellum was a new country group and no one knew who them. I got to talk to them after they sung, and have my picture taken with them. Shortly after they came to our school, they won best new country group at the Country Music Awards!
The Celebrity Some People Say I Look Like: I have never been told I look like a celebrity.
Biggest Pet Peeve: People texting and not watching where they are going!
I Wish I Knew How To: Play the guitar, but one day I will learn.
If I Could Play Another Sport At UNCP, I Would Play: I played basketball and softball before I picked up golf, so it's kind of a toss-up between the two. I really miss playing both sports.
When I'm Not In Class Or At Practice, You Can Find Me?: Studying! Unfortunately, I am always studying.
My Hometown Is Most Famous For: I am from a little town called Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. There is not much going on there, so this is kind of a weird answer. The church that my family attended is known for a beer bottle on top of the steeple. Supposedly, a brewery owner donated a lot of money to help build the church, and wanted everyone to know that he donated the money. So they put a beer bottle on top of the steeple.
Concert I'd Like To Attend: I have always wanted to see Josh Turner in concert, because he is one of my favorites in country music.
The Best Song Of All Time Is: There are so many songs that I love. This is a hard one, but I would say, "Love like Crazy" by Lee Brice because it has a great message.
When I Grow Up, I Want To Be?: Happy and successful in whatever I choose to do!
My Heroes: My parents, because they have sacrificed so much for my brother and I, and I am so thankful for that.
Best Thing About Your Coaches: Besides the fact that they are awesome? They have confidence in every single one of us. When your coach has confidence in you, it helps you to believe and have confidence in yourself.
I Refuse To Eat: Nothing! I eat and try everything.
Proudest Sports Moment: My first individual win at Savannah Quarters last spring. It was the best feeling in the world.
Coolest Place I Have Competed At: Kiawah Island! I love going there every year and playing because it's beautiful!
What I Love Most About UNCP?: The size! I knew I would not do well in a bigger college. It is nice to have teachers that know your name.
I Came To UNCP Because: I wanted to play golf, and become a Brave!
My Advice To Youngsters Would Be: Always follow your dreams. Hard work and dedication pay off.
What Is One Thing You Want To Happen Before You Leave UNCP?: I would really love for both teams to make it to the NCAA Division II National Championships. I know we have the talent to get there, we just need to make it happen!
How Do You Want People At UNCP To Remember You?: As a nice person, a good leader and someone who could bring a smile to your face.
