UNCP Set To Host Braves Classic
PEMBROKE – The UNCP track and field squad will host the first of two home meets Wednesday when it welcomes three teams to the Braves Classic at the Dick and Lenore Taylor Track in the Irwin Belk Athletic Complex. The meet is set to begin at 3 p.m.
The St. Patrick's Day visitors to UNCP include Belmont Abbey, St. Andrews and Shaw with some unattached athletes also making appearances.
In the 2010 season thus far, the Braves have seen success at the Savannah State Eye Opener (2/27) and the UNCW Seahawk Invitational (3/13) where they placed first and fourth, respectively.
The Lady Braves have also cracked the top-10 twice in the 2010 season, finishing sixth at both the Savannah State Eye Opener and the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.
UNCP's next home meet will take place on April 17th as the Braves host the Carolinas Track and Field Championship on Taylor Track.
