Ndhlovu Qualifies For NCAAs At UNF Invite
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The UNCP Braves wrapped up their first day of competition at the UNF/Spring Break Invitational on Friday evening.
Notable performances came from Pardon Ndhlovu, Daniel Yeakley and Zach Bayless in the distance events. Ndhlovu, who posted a 14:43.48 5000m run to place second in the event has met the NCAA National Championship provisional mark for the event (14:45.00). Yeakley and Bayless also posted personal bests in the 5000m event, taking 21st (15:54.97) and 28th (16:07.48), respectively.
In the sprint events, Maurice Eubanks took seventh in the 100m dash preliminaries with a 10.84 to qualify him to compete in the day two finals of competition. Also, the 4x100m relay took third with the team of Brandon Eaddy, Karlos Jordan, Bruce Strickland and Eubanks posting a 41.66.
The Braves will continue competition at the UNF/Spring Break Invitational beginning Saturday morning.
