Fierce Named PBC Specialist Of The Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior setter Heather Fierce has been named the Peach Belt Conference’s Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the week of September 3 it was announced Monday afternoon.

Fierce lived up to her namesake in five matches last week, piling up 204 total assists and 57 digs in 18 games. The junior began with a 57-assist effort in a win over Fayetteville State and hit 40+ assists twice more.

She also tallied double-digit digs in the Lady Braves' first three games, getting 18 in a loss to Florida Tech. Fierce averaged 11.33 assists per game, raising her season average to 10.48 per game, third best in the PBC and just one one-hundreth of an assist out of second. She is also ranked 10th in the league in digs.

Fierce and the Braves will be back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to play in-state rival St. Augustine’s on the campus of the Falcons.
