Morgan Earns PBC All-Conference Nod
SAVANNAH, Ga. – UNCP junior Rebecca Morgan, fresh off her 17-kill, 12-dig performance against Armstrong Atlantic in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals, was named to the PBC All-Conference Second Team for the 2010 season, the league announced Friday.
The Greencastle, Pa., native led UNCP with 301 kills this season while averaging 2.81 kills per set. She also led the Lady Braves' squad with 880 total attacks on the year while registering a team best 45 service aces in 107 sets of action. Her 243 digs were second on the team, and she tied for fifth on the squad with 41 total blocks.
The former two-time junior college Region XX MVP finished fifth in the PBC with 138 kills during conference matches while finishing fifth in in kills per set average with a 2.82 mark. She registered eight double-doubles on the season and had six of UNCP's 10 highest-game kill totals, while also logging the five highest attack totals on the year.
She registered a team-high 20 kills in UNCP's 3-1 victory over Francis Marion on Nov. 3 and 19 kills in UNCP's 3-1 victory over Augusta State on Sept. 15.
She is UNCP's first volleyball athlete to be named to the all-conference squad since Heather Fierce in 2007.
