PEMBROKE - Thursday's regularly scheduled baseball doubleheader between UNCP and Clarion at Sammy Cox Field has been cancelled due to an unforeseen situation with Clarion's roster. The games will not be made up.

March is National Athletic Training Month, an awareness and motivational program sponsored by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Athletic trainers are specially trained individuals responsible for the prevention, accessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – UNCP grabbed a pair of doubles victories and then booked five singles wins in straight sets to snap a two-match losing streak with a 7-2 victory over Upper Iowa Wednesday afternoon at Hilton Head High School in Hilton Head, S.C.

WINGATE – Due to heavy rain expected to make its way through western and central North Carolina late Wednesday afternoon, the regularly scheduled baseball game between UNCP and Wingate has been postponed. The contest will now be played on April 5 at 6 p.m. inside Wingate’s Ron Christopher Stadium.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – For his efforts in leading UNCP to a perfect week on the baseball diamond, UNCP junior infielder Jason Coker has been named this week’s Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

WILSON – Sophomore Jonathan McCurry shot a tournament-low round of 68 to jump 14 spots in the final standings and pace a strong push for UNCP, but the Braves finished four shots off the pace to settle in at third after the final round of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Barton Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Wilson Country Club.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Top-ranked and defending national champion Armstrong Atlantic yielded just three games in sweeping through doubles competition and finished off its ninth shutout of the season by winning all six singles matches in straight sets in registering a 9-0 win over visiting UNCP Tuesday evening at Bacon Park.

CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Eagles announced today the signing of Miguel Ferrer. The young player comes to the Charlotte Eagles after a very successful career at UNC Pembroke. A native of Cuba, Miguel has spent most of his life in Miami, Fla., until moving up to Charlotte to attend UNCP.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – UNCP freshman shortstop belted two home runs and drove in six runs in helping power the Braves past Georgia College for a pair victories, earning a 3-1 win in game one before pounding the Bobcats 10-2 (six innings) in game two as Pembroke improved to 15-9 overall and 6-6 in the Peach Belt Conference.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Jenna McGary and Janna Oxendine grabbed a tight 8-6 win at No. 1 singles to grab UNCP’s lone point of the day as Brevard booked the other two doubles points, as well as straight-set victories in all six singles matches to hand the Braves an 8-1 defeat on Tuesday morning at Chaplin Park in Hilton Head, S.C.

CHARLOTTE – The UNCP women’s golf team earned a second place finish after shooting a combined 640 (315-325) at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate hosted by Pfeiffer University on Tuesday to earn its seventh top-5 finish of the year as four Braves finished the tournament in the top-30 on the leaderboard.
