2023 Men's Basketball Signing Class
I believe this class adds to the already strong group of returners. Each of these signees holds a strength that we either lost after last season or have lacked in the past. They are all also high character people. Between these three and our previous early additions of Will and Dallas, we are extremely excited about the future of Braves Basketball!

#22 JAMARVIOUS JONES
6-6, 175, Senior, Guard/Forward
Johnston, S.C. / Glenville State

Jamarvious Jones Signing Headshot

AS A JUNIOR AT GLENVILLE STATE (2022-23): Saw action in 30 contests logging seven starts … Averaged 9.2 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game … Connected on 40.8 percent of his attempts from the field and shot 37.0 percent from the perimeter … Finished the season with 25 steals and 24 assists.

BEFORE GLENVILLE STATE: Played two seasons at Spartanburg Methodist College … Averaged 15.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game during his sophomore season… Scored in double-figures in 22 games during his second year … Averaged 15.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game during his freshman campaign … Scored in double-figures 24 different times during his freshman season, eight of which were 20-point or better performances.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Strom Thurmond High School for coach Bo Rouse … Named all-state and earned a spot on the all-tournament team … Also named the Region Player of the Year.

PERSONAL: Attended Strom Thurmond High School … Enjoys fishing and playing video games … Love & Basketball is his favorite movie and the Los Angeles Lakers are his favorite team … Lists chicken alfredo as his favorite food … A business management major at UNCP.

Jamarvious is a bona fide “3, D, and Rebound” wing. He takes pride in his ability to shoot the ball and with his height and length it brings us another dimension of athleticism and size to our perimeter spots. He has the ability to be a lock down defender and will be challenged to become more consistent on that end of the floor but is a great piece to the puzzle.

#30 AMADOU FAYE
6-11, 230, Junior, Forward
Dakar, Senegal / Elizabeth City State

Amadou Faye Signing Headshot

AS A SOPHOMORE AT ELIZABETH CITY STATE (2022-23): Saw action in 28 games logging 27 starts … Averaged 7.2 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game … Shot 42.4 percent from the field … Finished the season with a team-high 86 blocks ... Named the CIAA Defensive Player of the Year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Yavus Selim for coach Nicola … Ranked the 5th best prospect and helped his team to a state championship.

PERSONAL: The son of Oumou Kamara and Jack Faye … Maintained a 3.4 grade point average at Yavuz Selim … Hobbies include fishing and sunsets … His favorite food is African Food … A computer science and business administration major at UNCP.

Amadou is a big dude! In addition to his size, he is an elite rebounder and defender with incredible timing on blocks and mobility to be disruptive to an opposing teams offense. He has a developing offensive skillset but is just scratching the surface how much he can impact the game on both ends.

Josh is an extremely skilled forward who can play inside and outside. At his size he can handle, pass, and shoot on the offensive end and be physical with posts on the defensive end. Josh is also a high-level student that we expect to start his masters before his eligibility is up.
