PEMBROKE – Twelve different Braves were credited with at least one shot and the UNC Pembroke women's soccer team ran over visiting Francis Marion 4-1 Monday evening at Lumbee River EMC Stadium in a Peach Belt Conference (PBC) clash.

The Braves (8-2-0, 6-0-0 PBC) run their league-best winning streak to eight games and tie the third-longest streak in program history. The Patriots (0-13-0, 0-8-0 PBC) are still searching for their first victory of the 2016 campaign and fall to the Black & Gold for the first time in series history. Francis Marion had won the previous six meetings.

Three first-half goals sent the hosts into halftime with a comfortable 3-0 advantage before the teams each netted one goal in the final 45 minutes of play.

Junior Kate Weisner broke the 0-0 tie in the ninth-minute after taking a pass from freshman Kristina Stevenson and beating the Patriot goalkeeper in the lower left portion of the net. It's Wesiner's second goal of the season.

UNCP's second and third strikes came less than three minutes apart, the first when sophomore Stacey Scott had the netminder one-on-one after a beautiful through ball from Katie Watkins in the 24th-minute. Scott found the back of the net for her third goal of the season and Watkins' second assist.

In the 27th-minute, freshman Kaitlin Plienis notched her first collegiate goal, putting a slick move on the Francis Marion defender in the box. Stevenson racked up her second assist of the night and the season on the play. Plienis' second goal of the contest put the Braves out front 4-0 in the 83rd-minute.

The Patriots struck for their lone goal in the 84th-minute off a rebound in front of the UNCP net.

Freshman goalkeeper Gina Ryan continued her dominance in goal, saving all four shots-on-goal during her 57:45 of play. Sophomore Courtney Almon replaced Ryan in the second half and played the last 32:15.

The Braves held a 29-10 advantage in shots, including a 16-3 mark in the first half. The 29 shots ties a season high and the 13 UNCP shots-on-goal are one off a season best.

Scott and Mackenzie Wright paced the Black & Gold with five shots apiece, while Weisner and Courtney Crump fired three shots each. 21 different Braves saw action, all playing at least 17 minutes.

After a single day off, the Braves will head to Greenwood, South Carolina for a Wednesday meeting with Lander. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Van Taylor Stadium. The Bearcats (3-8-1, 2-5-1 PBC) have lost two straight overall and hold a 9-7-3 advantage in the series history with UNCP, dating back to the first meeting in 2001. The Braves got the best of Lander last season, a 2-1 victory in Pembroke.
