PEMBROKE – All-American Kory Jones (High Jump), Javon Graham (110-meter Hurdles) and Michael Powell (400-meter Hurdles) all registered Peach Belt Conference titles in their respective disciplines to lead the UNC Pembroke men's track & field squad to a runner-up finish on the final day of the 2018 PBC Track & Field Championships in Pembroke.

The women's track & field squad registered seven more all-PBC accolades on Saturday and finished with a third place finish at the event. It is the third time in the last four years that the women's team has finished among the top 3 teams at the postseason gala.

Kipkoech took home the PBC Male Track Athlete of the Year award for the second-straight year, while Jeanna Cube was decorated with PBC Female Field Athlete of the Year laurels for the second-consecutive season as well. Peter Ormsby was crowned the PBC Men's Track & Field Coach of the Year for the second time in the last three seasons. Keyshawn Tyler and Leanna Jacobs both earned a spot on the PBC Track & Field All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Braves combined to pick up 21 more All-Peach Belt Conference accolades on Sunday to give them 34 for the three-day event. Kipkoech (5,000-meter Run), Christian Ceccato (110-meter Hurdles), Marcus Bell (Shot Put), Lashonda Tate (200-meter Dash), J.C. Smith (200-meter Dash) and the women's 4x400-meter Relay team all posted runner-up showings in their respective disciplines.

The Braves will continue their 2018 campaign on Friday when they head to Jacksonville, Fla., for the North Florida Invite. The Black & Gold will close out the regular season portion of their slate, May 11-12, at the Montevallo-hosted Falcon Finale.
