Jeanna Cube Lashonda Tate NCAA Championships

Cube Finishes 17th, Tate 24th At NCAA Track & Field Championships

CHARLOTTEJeanna Cube posted a 17th place finish in the 100-meter Hurdles, while Lashonda Tate came away with a 24th place showing in the Triple Jump, to wrap up action for UNC Pembroke at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in Charlotte.
 
Cube finished with a time of 14.35 seconds – nearly .20 seconds better than her previous personal best mark – to finish her career with a top-20 national finish in her first appearance on the sport's biggest collegiate stage. Tate turned in a leap of 11.06 meters to settle into 24th place in her first appearance at the championships as well.
 
Cube exits UNCP as the most decorated female student-athlete in program history, having been decorated with two Peach Belt Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Year awards, as well as four conference event titles. She also steps away from her collegiate career with five school records, including three outdoor superlatives.
 
Tate will be among a handful of returners for the Black & Gold in 2019 as she competes in her junior season with the club.
