PEMBROKE – Forward Carlos Cipriano, midfielder Miguel Ferrer and defender Michael Davis were among 22 players named to the 2008 Daktronics Southeast Region Men's Soccer teams released Tuesday morning by the organization.

The trio, all of which garnered second team laurels, joined Francis Marion defender Willie Hunt (2nd team) as the only representatives from the Peach Belt Conference on the South Atlantic Conference-dominated squads.

Ferrer, who was recognized as a first team all-PBC selection on Friday, earns Daktronics all-region accolades for the second-straight season after earning all-American honors for the organization following a productive 2007 campaign. Ferrer, a Miami, Fla., native, started all 19 games for the Braves this season and led the team in scoring with 22 points on six goals and a squad-best 10 assists.

Cipriano, who missed a month this season due to illness, earns the all-region honor after scoring a team-best eight goals, including a trio of game-winners, while also adding five assists. The Raleigh product scored four goals and registered a pair of assists prior to missing the last week of September and the first three weeks of October due to illness. He returned to log game-winning goals in three-straight outings, including a two-goal, two-assist outing against Chowan.

Davis, who keyed a very stout UNCP defense, started all 19 games for the Braves on the backline and logged more than 1,700 minutes of playing time after playing every minute of 18 contests. The Charlotte native scored three goals and added two assists from his defensive position, including scores in consecutive home games against Pfeiffer and Queens.
