GREENWOOD, S.C. – Due to damaging rains that swept through the Greenwood, S.C., area late Saturday and into the morning, Sunday's regularly scheduled series finale between third-ranked UNCP and Lander has been cancelled. The game will not be made up.
Lander (11-8, 2-0 PBC) took both games of a series-opening doubleheader with the Braves (15-3, 2-3) on Saturday, winning the first matchup by a 5-3 count before using a sixth-inning home run by Cody McElhaney to register a 2-1 comeback victory in the nightcap of the twinbill.
The Braves will be back in action again on Thursday when they suit up to host Clarion (0-2) in a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Sammy Cox Field. Admission prices are $5 for adults and $2 for children 18 years of age and younger. UNCP students are admitted free with a valid Braves Card.
