YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Sophomore Alisia Gustafson scored a hustle goal in the 46th minute that served as the game winner in UNCP's 2-1 win over Young Harris in non conference women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon in Young Harris, Ga.

"It was not a pretty game but it was a workman-like effort on our end," said UNCP head coach Lars Andersson. "I'm proud of the fact that even though we had tired legs from playing yesterday, we found a way to come from behind and secure the victory. Alisia is someone that hasn't played a lot this year, but she took advantage of her opportunity and I'm very excited for her to get the game-winning goal."

After Young Harris' (4-2-0) Haley Holderfield scored the game's first goal in the 20th minute, UNCP (5-1-1, 1-1-0 PBC) answered back just 48 seconds later on an upper-90 shot by junior Ashley Anctil from 25 yards out. Anctil's goal came off a pass from sophomore Cassie DeQueiroz and was high enough to get past the out-stretched arms of the Young Harris goalkeeper.

Gustafson then notched the eventual game winner just 1:36 into the second half on a pass to open space by Andrea Collèn as she slipped past the Mountain Lions' back line and beat YHC's Kelsey Cunningham after she came off her line.

Sophomore goalkeeper Britney Bennett recorded three of her five saves after Gustafson's goal to preserve the victory.

The Lady Braves will return to Pembroke for their home opener on Friday when they host Peach Belt Conference foe Flagler at Varsity Grounds.
