FLORENCE, S.C. – Host Francis Marion hit a blistering .453 at the front line to top the UNCP volleyball squad in straight sets on Wednesday evening at the Smith University Center in Florence, S.C. Game scores for the match were 25-15, 25-16 and 25-18.
The Lady Braves (8-8, 2-1 PBC) were able to hit just .152 during the match, while the Patriots pounded 50 kills on 95 attacks with just seven errors in posting a hitting percentage above .410 in each set.
Ashlee Crook led the Patriots with 19 kills on 30 attempts with just one error for a .600 attack percentage, while Megan Mooney posted eight kills on 15 attacks to finish second on the squad.
Senior Heather Bolwerk led the Lady Braves with eight kills on a .400 attack percentage while Rebecca Morgan added six kills on a .417 attack percentage and Allie Schneider posted a .308 attack percentage and five kills.
Ashlyn Rebok notched 25 assists to lead the UNCP offense while reigning Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week Marissa Baker led the defense with 17 digs.
UNCP will look to rebound on Friday when they travel to Savannah, Ga., for a matchup with conference foe Armstrong Atlantic State at 7 p.m.
