SAVANNAH, Ga. – Freshman Hannah Hill led the UNCP offense by posting 12 kills on 22 attempts for a .409 hitting percentage, but Armstrong Atlantic proved to be too strong, on offense and on defense for the Lady Braves as the Pirates took the 3-0 victory on Friday evening at Alumni Arena.

The Lady Braves (8-9, 2-2 PBC) captured a 10-5 lead early in the first game until the Pirates (15-0, 3-0) made a comeback to post a tie score before pulling away from the Black and Gold for a final score of 25-19. Hill led the Lady Braves' offense in game one with six kills along with a .417 hitting percentage.

Armstrong continued quickly with the same momentum in game two as the Pirates held the lead the entire game to collect a 25-23 victory in the second game despite the effort of UNCP to stay to within three points for a majority of the game. In game three, the Pirates began with a 5-0 lead over the Lady Braves and went on an 8-2 run to finish the game with a score of 25-14.

The Pirates combined for a .340 hitting percentage on 43 kills and 94 attacks with only 11 errors while also tallying 43 assists to boast the unstoppable offense. The defense collected 43 digs and 32 blocks en route to holding the Lady Braves to a .087 hitting percentage and 52 percent sideout percentage.

Setter Ashlyn Rebok totaled 26 of the 27 assists for the Black and Gold while libero Marissa Baker registered 13 digs. Freshman Chelsea Phillips collected all three service aces on the evening as well as seven kills, while Hill and Megan Gallimore each posted two block assists

The Lady Braves will match up against PBC opponent Flagler (11-4, 3-0) in St. Augustine, Fla., on Saturday at 2 p.m., in the Flagler Gymnasium.
