PEMBROKE – The UNCP volleyball team was shutout by Peach Belt Conference competitor Montevallo on Saturday afternoon, 25-11, 25-9 and 25-11, at the English E. Jones Center.

Shay Peterson notched a team-best five kills and the only service ace for the Black and Gold. Senior Ashlyn Rebok dished out all 14 of UNCP's assists. Leslie Millard led the defensive effort collecting 10 digs, while Sawyer Gray and Marissa Baker connected for the Lady Braves only block.

The Falcons earned a .362 hitting average, delivering 42 kills in the match. Michelle Walker led Montevallo with 14 kills and Manyi Ati added another eight for the Falcons. Kaleigh Harvey and Brianna Guzinski had two service aces apiece. The Falcons out-blocked the Lady Braves, 7-1.

UNCP will look to regroup and rebound when they travel to Hartsville, S.C., to battle with Coker (5-17) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
