MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The UNCP women's volleyball team dropped its last Peach Belt Conference match of the regular season on the road against Montevallo in three sets, 25-14, 26-24, 25-19, on Saturday afternoon at the BankTrust Arena.
The Lady Braves (5-24, 0-13 PBC) were overwhelmed by a strong Montevallo (15-16, 6-8) offensive performance. Montevallo delivered 42 kills, earning a .269 hitting percentage, compared to 27 kills from UNCP. The Lady Braves earned the advantage on service aces and blocks, collecting nine and eight, respectively. The Falcons were able to put up just five blocks, and notched seven service aces.
Heather Ciscel led UNCP with four service aces, while Ashtin Truesdale and Sawyer Gray each put up two service aces. Shay Peterson tallied a team-high eight kills and the only solo block, as well as six block assists for UNCP. Gray contributed seven kills and three block assists. Peterson and Marissa Baker totaled a team-best nine digs apiece, as Ashlyn Rebok led the Black and Gold with 14 assists.
The Falcon offense was led by Jordan Spinks who notched 16 kills to earn a .464 hitting percentage. Manyi Ati slammed 10 kills, including a kill for match point which marked her 1,000th career kill. Betsy Stevenson dished out a team-best 35 assists, while Kaleigh Harvey posted 15 digs for Montevallo.
