AUGUSTA, Ga. – Shay Peterson tallied a team-high 10 kills as the UNCP women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets to Augusta State in Peach Belt Conference action on Friday evening at Christenberry Field. The scores of the three sets were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-17.
The Lady Braves (5-22, 0-12 PBC) registered 32 kills for a .136 hitting percentage, compared to 49 kills and .291 hitting percentage from the Jaguars (17-14, 5-8).
Ashlyn Rebok recorded her sixth double-double of the season, as the senior dished out 18 assists and 13 digs. Ashtin Truesdale and Marissa Baker added 11 digs and 10 digs, respectively for the Black and Gold defense. Baker slammed five kills, while Sawyer Gray contributed an additional six kills for UNCP.
Mandy Irizarry led Augusta State with 18 kills and a .515 hitting percentage, while Jenna Keeler delivered 10 kills and earned a .333 hitting percentage for the Jaguars. Irizarry also had a team-best three service aces. Maggie Darling led the squad with 17 apiece, as Collette Richards and Irizarry added 15 digs apiece. Krystin Wahlig posted a team-best 40 assists.
UNCP will conclude its 2012 regular season tomorrow afternoon at Montevallo, Ala., with a double-header against Montevallo (13-15, 4-8) at 12 p.m., followed by a match with UWF (22-7) at 2 p.m., at the BankTrust Arena.
