MURFREESBORO – Five different players recorded at least one goal for the UNCP men's soccer team including junior Martin Tomter who notched his third career hat trick in the 10-0 shutout victory against region opponent Chowan on Wednesday in Murfreesboro.

With the win, UNCP (5-0-0) currently matches the first time in eight years that the Braves have started their season with five wins. The next two goals were added by senior Sean Hoek on assists by Sam Miles and Brett Luccia, respectively.

Hoek drained his first goal off a rebound near the posts in the 22nd minute, and followed with his second goal in the 43rd minute when the ball went flying over the goalkeeper's head. UNCP exited halftime with a 3-0 lead and led by 16 shots.

Matt MacDougall
and Miles posted goals less than 15 seconds apart to bring the score to 5-0. The sixth goal drove past the keeper to the far post in the 68th minute by Tomter for his first goal of the night.
