The Lady Braves (3-0-0, 1-0-0 PBC) won their third straight of the 2012 season as they outshot the Canes (1-2-0, 0-0-1) 27 to three. Arvidsson scored the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute of play on a header off of a free kick in the middle of the box. Fanny Forsman recorded her first assist of the season on the score. Just four minutes later, Elke Groothius tallied her second goal of 2012 on a pass over the midfield from Andrea Collén.

The second half consisted on a dominant defensive performance from the Black and Gold as the Canes never became close to reaching the goal. The Lady Braves allowed Georgia Southwestern to make only three shots the entire 90 minutes, no shots on goal were permitted.
Junior goalkeeper Brittney Bennett garnered her second shutout of the season playing a full 90 minutes in the net.
UNCP started the game at 1 p.m. but were delayed with 19 minutes left in the second half due to a lightning.
Carolann Simpson and Heather Thoele took the only shots for the Canes with two and one respectively. Goalkeeper Amber Bahri recorded seven saves for Georgia Southwestern.
The Lady Braves will look to remain unbeaten as they travel to Greeneville, Tenn., on September 12 for a match against the Tusculum Pioneers (2-1-0) at the Niswonger Sports Complex. First kick is set for 4 p.m.
