AIKEN, S.C. – Fifth-seeded UNC Pembroke grabbed the early momentum with a trio of runs in the top of the first, but 20th-ranked Georgia College hit four home runs and tacked up a pair of big innings en route to a 13-7 victory over the Braves in the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

The setback likely signaled an end to another phenomenal season for UNCP (33-18) who posted 30 or more wins for the 10th-straight year under head coach Paul O'Neil. Georgia College (34-14) advances to face top-seeded and second-ranked Lander (45-6) in Sunday's semifinal round.

Jordan Edgerton homered twice and scored three times on a 3-for-5 day at the plate for the braves, while Dalton Knight plated a pair of runs on a 2-for-4 hitting line. Four different players hit home runs for the Bobcats, but GC was led offensively by leadoff hitter Ryan Sabalaskey who walked and scored twice on a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the plate.

Andy Sullivan (7-2) took the loss for UNCP after yielding seven runs (two earned) on four hits in just three innings from the hill, while Logan Cook was not awarded a decision despite surrendering five earned runs on as many hits and was only able to record one out in the fourth. The Braves lit up Spencer Thomas (7-0) for six earned runs on 10 hits, but the Georgia College senior was still able to stay perfect on the campaign, including a 2-0 mark against UNCP.

The Braves scored three runs and four hits in the first to light up the scoreboard early, but the Bobcats scored six runs on two hits and a pair of costly errors in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good. The Bobcats added another run on Steve Hazel's solo homer in the third, and then padded the advantage out to 12-3 on the strength of three homers in the bottom of the fourth.

The Black & Gold cut into its deficit with three runs in the eighth, including a leadoff homer by Edgerton, and then got to within six runs on another solo job by Edgerton with two outs in the ninth.

2014 Season Notes
- UNCP finishes the season with a 33-18 record – the 10th-straight season that the Braves have recorded 30 or more wins under head coach Paul O'Neil
- O'Neil, who grabbed his 500th career victory in the season-opening series at Anderson, will take a 531-376 career record into next season. He has recorded 447 of those wins at UNCP
- UNCP's .338 batting average this season is a new school record and broke last year's school record mark (.336) by two points
- The Braves eclipsed the program record for doubles with 144 two-baggers in 2014. The previous mark was 118 by last year's squad
Daniel Fraga's team-leading .392 batting average marked just the 12th time since 1963 that a UNCP hitter has finished the season with a batting average of .390 or better. That feat has now been accomplished in three-straight seasons (Josh Haley, .391 in 2012; Jordan Edgerton, .392 in 2013)
Daniel Fraga and Drew Cole both finished the season with a team-best 60 runs scored. It is the first time since 2011 that a UNCP player has reached the 60-run plateau.
- UNCP fell to 9-15 all-time in Peach Belt Conference Tournament play and dropped its PBC Tournament opener for the first time since 2010.
Daniel Fraga is just the ninth different player since 1963 to record 20 or more stolen bases in a season. The Columbus native was 21-for-25 on the base paths this season.
