MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Zade Denton's RBI single with two outs in the ninth helped send the game into extra innings, but Matthew Haskins drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning to lead Montevallo to a series-tying 5-4 victory on Saturday at Kermit A. Johnson Field.
Collins Cuthrell (2-for-4) and Dalton Knight (1-for-5) hit back-to-back homers in the first to fuel a 10-hit attack for UNCP (11-1, 4-1 PBC).  Freshman Nolan Pierce doubled on a 2-for-4 outing, while Denton doubled to highlight a 3-for-6 day at the plate.
Steven Knudson (2-for-5) hit his fourth home run of the series to pave the way for the Falcons (3-5, 1-1), while Vinny Rodriguez doubled and scored to earmark a 2-for-3 hitting line.
Alex Britt (2-1) struck out three, but allowed one run on two hits and a pair of walks in 2-2/3 innings of relief to saddle the loss for the Braves. Taylor Burr (2-0) pitched 1-1/3 innings of scoreless relief to grab the win for the Falcons. He also struck out one.
Cuthrell and Knight went yard on back-to-back at-bats with two outs in the first to help the Braves stake claim to the early advantage, but Montevallo knotted the score back up on consecutive two-out RBI singles in the second. A passed ball, as well as an ensuing solo homer by Knudson, pushed UM's lead out to 4-2 in the third.
UNCP got a run back on Drew Cole's one-out sac fly in the fourth, and then tied the score back up on Denton's dramatics in the ninth.
