ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – With a tied 3-3 score heading into the final inning, senior Kaytee Wilson doubled to reach base and was sent home on Whitney Jackson's RBI single to provide the visiting UNC Pembroke softball team a 4-3 Peach Belt Conference victory over Flagler on Sunday.

The win snapped a three-game skid for UNCP (22-20, 6-15 PBC), while Flagler (12-32, 3-14) suffered its seconds-consecutive loss.

The Braves strung together eight hits over the seven innings with Jackson leading the squad with two and Hartley claiming a pair of RBI with her homer in the third inning. Flagler had five different athletes notch one hit each as Maddy Murphy led the team with three RBI on her home run in the opening inning.

Junior Katie Saunders (13-12) finished her 20th complete game with the win in the middle for UNCP as she struck out five and retired three batters in the five of the seven innings. Despite logging six strikeouts, Haleigh Corbally (6-10) tallied the loss with four earned runs allowed on eight hits.

The Black and Gold left two stranded in the top of the first, and Flagler capitalized on two-straight singles before Murphy sent her homer soaring over centerfield for the 3-0 lead. UNCP began closing out the deficit in the third as Karlee Wilson singled through the left side with Hartley blasting her tater over left centerfield to score Karlee Wilson bring the score to 3-2.

A triple along the right field line put senior Megan Hillard in scoring position and with a groundout to third base on Morgan Davis's at-bat drove in Hillard for the game-tying run. Finally in the top of the seventh, Kaytee Wilson led off with a double to the left center gap, was moved to third Karlee Wilson's sacrifice bunt and crossed home plate on the basehit bunt by Jackson to hold the 4-3 advantage. Flagler was unable to attempt a comeback in the bottom of the seventh as UNCP's defense was too much to overcome.
