PEMBROKE – A steady delivery of rain that moved into the Robeson County area on Saturday evening has washed out the Sunday schedule for the UNC Pembroke baseball and softball teams.
Sunday's baseball series finale between UNCP and Pitt-Johnstown has been canceled. The game will not be made up. The Braves will be back in action at home again next weekend when they open up a three-game set with a Saturday doubleheader against Concord at Sammy Cox Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The remaining games of softball's Campbell Oil/Minuteman Invitational presented by Sunoco event have been canceled and will not be rescheduled. The Braves will return to action on Wednesday when they head to Hartsville, S.C., for a 1 p.m. twinbill with Coker.
