YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The UNC Pembroke baseball team tacked up multiple runs in four different innings behind solid efforts from the hill and the Braves evened up their weekend series at Young Harris with a 10-3 victory over the Mountain Lions on Saturday.

Hayden Buffkin walked, doubled and scored four times on a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate to pace the Braves (21-9, 8-6 PBC) who got multi-hit efforts from five players. Christian Snider doubled, homered and plated a pair of runs on a 2-for-4 performance for the visitors as well.

Luke Miller walked, doubled and homered on a 2-for-3 hitting line for Young Harris (10-18, 5-12). Zach Odom (2-for-5) and Brett Westmoreland (2-for-3, RBI) both registered a pair of hits as well.

Lane Johnson (3-1) struck out three and scattered seven hits and a trio of earned runs to pick up his first decision since March 5, while Kyle Ramsey struck out eight and surrendered just one hit in three dominant innings to grab his first save in a UNCP uniform. Donald Frew (2-5) took the loss for the hosts after surrendering five earned runs on seven hits and a trio of walks in five innings of work. He also struck out one.

Young Harris grabbed the game's first lead on Westmoreland's RBI single with two outs in the second, but the Braves stormed ahead for good on a two-run double by Roberto Rivera (2-for-4, 3 R) in the top of the third that sparked a three-run frame. Run-scoring knocks by Drew Beaver (2-for-4) and Stibel Aleman Saba (2-for-5, 3 RBI) in the fifth would pad the lead out to 5-1.

The Mountain Lions cut into their deficit on Miller's two-run homer with one out in the sixth, but the Braves added an insurance run on Snider's RBI double in the seventh, before tacking up two runs in the eighth and ninth innings to provide the final.

Ramsey retired nine of the 11 batters he faced in his relief stint, including striking out the side in both the seventh and ninth frames.
