DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The UNC Pembroke women's basketball squad led by double digits in the second quarter, but host North Georgia shot 40 percent from behind the arc and limited the Braves to a season-low 50 points in a 63-50 Peach Belt Conference affair on Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega.

FIRST QUARTER
-Each side failed to find a rhythm on the offensive end in the first quarter, as both the Braves and Nighthawks shot under 17 percent in the first 10 minutes.
-UNCP took an early 4-0 lead on a pair of
Nyla Allen buckets and closed the period with four-straight points thanks to a
Se'Dasia Love jumper and a pair of freebies from
Alecia Hardy with under a minute to play to lead 8-4.
SECOND QUARTER
-After a combined 12 points in the first quarter, the teams exploded for a combined 42 points in the second stanza, including a 24-point period for the hosts.
-The Black & Gold used back-to-back 3-pointers from Allen and
Avery Locklear to claim its largest lead of the game at 18-8 at the 7:23 mark of the quarter.
-North Georgia bounced back with an 8-0 run to take its first lead of the day at 20-19 before the teams exchanged long balls in the final 23 seconds to give the hosts a 28-26 heading into the locker rooms.
THIRD QUARTER
-The hosts rattled off another 8-0 run to begin the third quarter to extend their lead to 36-26 with 6:44 to play in the quarter.
-North Georgia took its largest lead of the period on a Mackenzie Darrah layup with 2:55 to play at 44-31 before UNCP closed the period on a 6-2 to run to close the gap to 46-37.
FOURTH QUARTER
-Allen buried a pair of free throws at the 4:12 mark of the final stanza to cut the North Georgia deficit to five at 52-47, but the hosts scored five of the next six points to stretch the lead back to 57-48.
-After the Braves trimmed the UNG edge to 57-50 with 2:30 to play, the Nighthawks scored the final six points of the game to pull away for a 63-50 victory.
NOTABLES
-UNCP's 50 points are a season low that surpasses a 51-point output in a 67-51 setback to Lenoir-Rhyne on Dec. 10, as are the 12 turnovers committed on Saturday.
-The Braves held advantages in offensive rebounds (15-10), bench points (27-12), steals (12-3), points off turnovers (16-13), second chance points (13-8) and fewest turnovers (12-17).
-The Black & Gold shot a season-low 18.2 percent from long range (4-for-22), while North Georgia connected from behind the arc at a 40-percent clip (8-for-20).
-Allen paced the guests with 16 points to give her double-digit points in four-consecutive games. The senior was 5-for-6 from the charity stripe and grabbed four rebounds.

Brandi Robinson chipped in 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting and a perfect 2-for-2 at the free-throw line. Her 10 points are just one off her career-high of 11.
-Three Nighthawks poured in at least 11 points, led by Amber Skidgel with 15 on 5-of-10 shooting. Vanessa Agrusa grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and added 13 points in the winning effort.

The Braves wrap up a short, two-game road trip with a trip to Greenwood, South Carolina on Wednesday for a PBC bout against Lander. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. on the front end of a women's-men's doubleheader at Horne Arena. The Bearcats (9-2, 4-1 PBC) have won four-straight games and eight of their last nine overall and were ranked third in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region poll. Lander leads the series 32-20 against UNCP since the Braves joined the PBC in the 1992-93 season. The Bearcats have won 18 of the last 22 meetings overall and are 19-8 at home against the Braves since 1993.
