AMERICUS, Ga. – For the third time this season, but first since mid-December, a quartet of UNC Pembroke women's basketball players poured in double-digit points to fuel a 73-60 Braves' victory over Georgia Southwestern and hand UNCP its first road win of the season on Monday afternoon in Americus.

FIRST QUARTER
-Neither team led by more than a single point through the game's first five minutes, but Georgia Southwestern rattled off a 12-4 run over a 3:22 span to grab an 18-8 lead with under 90 seconds to play in the period.
-The Braves bounced back with five of the final six points in the quarter, capped off by a pair of
Alecia Hardy freebies with just one second showing on the clock.
SECOND QUARTER
-A layup with 7:36 to play in the half gave the hosts an eight-point lead at 22-14 before the Black & Gold used a 14-2 run to take a 28-24 advantage with 3:19 on the clock.
-A free throw by
Ebone Stevens at the 4:44 mark of the stanza pushed the Braves into the lead at 23-22 for the first time since a 4-3 advantage in the opening quarter.
-Trailing by one with under 1:20 to play, the Braves scored the final six points, including four from
Nyla Allen, to haul a 35-30 lead into the locker rooms.
THIRD QUARTER
-After
Avery Locklear put UNCP up seven with a basket to begin the third quarter, the Hurricanes used a 7-0 run to bring the game back even at 37-37 with just over eight minutes on the clock.
-The script was quickly flipped with a 13-0 Black & Gold run from the 8:02 mark to the 3:54 mark of the period to put the guests up 50-37.
-A pair of bunnies in the final 32 seconds stretched the UNCP advantage out to 60-44 with 10 minutes to play in the contest.
FOURTH QUARTER
-Georgia Southwestern trimmed its deficit to as little as 11 with 1:59 to play in the final period, but it was too little too late and the Braves held on for the 73-60 triumph.
NOTABLES
-The victory is UNCP's second in its last three games and first away from Pembroke, as the Braves move into solo eighth in the PBC standings.
-The Braves' 46-percent shooting clip (30-for-65) is their best of the season and Monday marked the first time in the New Year that UNCP has eclipsed the 65-point scoring mark.
-
Brandi Robinson had a career day with a team-best 14 points and 11 boards to record her first-career double-double in 26 minutes of action.
-Locklear chipped in 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Allen's 12 points gives the senior double-digits in nine-straight games and 10 of the 13 outings this season.
-Hardy added 11 points and four steals and Stevens tacked on nine points all in the second quarter.
-UNCP held a 40-30 advantage in points in the paint and knocked down four of its 10 long balls for its second-best performance of the season from deep.

The Braves wrap up a three-game road trip with a trek to Aiken, South Carolina for a battle against USC Aiken on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on the front end of a women's-men's doubleheader at the Convocation Center. The Pacers (3-12, 0-9 PBC) have lost 10-straight games overall dating back to Nov. 28, including a 69-45 setback to Georgia College on Monday. USC Aiken is the lone winless team in PBC play, but leads the all-time series 38-15 over the Black & Gold.
