Alecia Hardy chipped in a career-best 15, but visiting Georgia College used an 8-1 run in the final 2:28 of regulation to force overtime and escape with a 66-65 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) victory on Saturday afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.

FIRST QUARTER
-Neither team gained control in a low-scoring first quarter, as the largest lead on either side was three and the teams combined for just 28 points.
-Graham's layup with 3:19 to play put UNCP up 12-9, but Georgia College scored five of the final seven points in the period to knot the score at 14-14 after one.
-The Braves' missed their final five shots of the first stanza, while the Bobcats connected on three of their final four attempts in the final 4:05.
SECOND QUARTER
-Georgia College built an eight point lead at 28-20 thanks to an 11-2 run beginning with 6:36 to play in the half.
-The Black & Gold whittled the deficit down to three on an
Alecia Hardy jumper with 23 seconds on the clock to send UNCP to the locker room down 31-28.
-UNCP was just 6-for-16 from the floor in the second quarter, while Georgia College hit on four of its 11 attempts in the second frame.
THIRD QUARTER
-The Braves used a 10-0 run out of the break to turn the three-point deficit into a seven-point advantage at 38-31 and maintained a lead of at least five throughout the third quarter.
-UNCP's largest lead came at the 4:14 mark of the stanza when Graham knocked down a jumper to put the hosts on top 45-36.
FOURTH QUARTER
-The Black & Gold offense went cold in the fourth and made just two baskets and a pair of free throws in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
-Georgia College trimmed the UNCP lead to two with a 5-0 run to begin the frame, but the Braves responded with five of their own to extend the lead back to seven at 54-47 with 2:46 to play.
-The Bobcats used a pair of long balls from Brianna Davis in the final 61 seconds, the latter with 24 ticks showing on the clock to close the fourth on an 8-1 run and force overtime.
OVERTIME
-Graham banked home a layup with 3:03 to play to put the hosts ahead 60-57, but the Bobcats scored the next seven points to grab a 64-60 lead with 1:38 on the clock.
-With the clock ticking under 30 seconds, an offensive rebound gave UNCP a second possession and
Melanie Horne made the most of it by knocking down her lone 3-pointer of the game to pull the Braves within one with 27 ticks left.
-A steal on the ensuing inbound by Hardy led to an easy layup to give UNCP a one-point edge at 65-64 with 23 seconds to play.
-On the other end, Georgia College's Ta'Asia Wright drove to the hole, drew a foul and hit both freebies to put the guests up a point with 13 seconds on the clock.
-UNCP's last-ditch effort came up short when Horne's long ball was off the mark and Wright grabbed a defensive board for the Bobcats to run out the clock.
NOTABLES
-The overtime affair was UNCP's first of the season and first since a 73-72 setback to Armstrong State last season on Feb. 15.
-Graham's 17 points eclipsed her previous high of 15 set in the first game of the season against Fayetteville State. The redshirt-sophomore dished out four assists and grabbed five boards as well.
-Hardy's new standard of 15 points came on 7-of-14 shooting and the junior hauled in seven rebounds and also handed out a quartet of assists.
-Senior
Nyla Allen added 14 points to give her double-digit points in six-straight games and came one rebound shy of her third double-double of the season.
-The Braves shot 32 percent from the floor (26-for-81), while Georgia College hit at a 44-percent clip (22-for-50) overall and made seven 3-pointers to UNCP's two.
-UNCP outrebounded the Bobcats 49-37, including a commanding 21-3 advantage on the offensive glass. The Braves now have at least 21 offensive boards in back-to-back home games.
-The Black & Gold led for over 24 minutes, while the guests were on top for just under 14 minutes of the 45 minutes played.

The Braves wrap up a short, two-game home stand on Wednesday when Augusta invades Pembroke for a league tilt. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on the front end of a women's-men's doubleheader at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court. Wednesday's game will serve as Military Appreciation Night for the UNCP basketball squads. Augusta (3-7, 1-5 PBC) suffered a 77-72 setback to Columbus State on Saturday and has now dropped four-straight contests dating back to Dec. 19. The Jaguars lead the all-time series over UNCP 34-17 since the Braves joined the PBC prior to the 1992-93 season. The Black & Gold is 13-11 at home against the Jaguars, including a 68-62 triumph in Pembroke last season.
