GREENSBORO– UNC Greensboro shot better than 43 percent from the field, including an 11-for-27 clip from 3-point territory, on the way to a 72-32 victory over the UNC Pembroke women's basketball team on Sunday in Fleming Gymnasium.
The contest was earmarked as an exhibition contest for the Black & Gold (1-3), but will count in the overall win-loss totals for the Spartans (3-2). It is UNCG's third win of the season over a non-NCAA Division I foe.

HOW IT HAPPENED |
1ST QUARTER |
Alecia Hardy's 3-pointer just more than four minutes into the game brought the Braves to within three points, 11-8, but UNCP went scoreless for the remainder of the quarter. The Spartans connected on half of their field goal attempts (7-for-14), and led 23-8 by the end of the period. |
2ND QUARTER |
The Braves stopped a nearly 10-minute scoring drought on Alecia Hardy's 3-pointer at the 6:05 mark, but the Spartans eventually pushed their advantage out to 22 points, 36-14, on Alexus Willey's 3-pointer with 28 seconds left before the break. |
3RD QUARTER |
The Braves came away empty on their first four possessions of the third quarter, but looked to have regained their shooting touch back with 50 percent shooting on the next six possessions. UNC Greensboro, however, hit seven of their final 10 shots of the period to carry a 30-point margin, 54-24, into the fourth quarter. |
4TH QUARTER |
The Braves scored four-straight points to eventually narrow its deficit back to 57-28 on Brianna Baham's layup with 6:26 left to play, but that would mark the final field goal of the game for the Black & Gold. Alexis Pitchford's 3-pointer on the other end of the court ignited a game-ending 15-4 run for the hosts. |
