MISENHEIMER –
Megan Hunter captured event titles in both the 500 and 1000 Yard Freestyle and finished second in the 100-Yard Butterfly to lead the UNC Pembroke swimming & diving team to a split at the Pfeiffer Tri-Meet on Saturday. The Braves registered a 143-28 victory over Sweet Briar, but fell to the host-Falcons, 110-88.
Hunter bested the rest of the field by nearly two minutes and coasted in the 1000 Yard Free, and then topped second-place Gina Meyers of Pfeiffer by more than 19 seconds in the 500 Free. She was just more than a second off the pace of Meyers in the 100 Yard Fly.
Freshman
Jaiden Estrada turned in runner-up finishes in both the 100- and 200-Yard Free events for the Braves as well, while also finishing third in the 200-Yard Medley.
The Braves will close out the Fall portion of their 2018-19 schedule on November 17 when they trek to Cary for the Greensboro Invitational. Competition at the Triangle Aquatic Center is set to get underway at 8 a.m.
