PEMBROKE – On a day in which the four UNC Pembroke women's basketball seniors combined for almost 70 percent of the team's points, it was visiting Flagler that used a 13-0 run to fuel a 65-53 victory over the Braves in the regular-season finale at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
The Braves (10-16, 8-14 PBC) dropped their final two games of the regular season, but will make their second-consecutive appearance the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament next week as the No. 8-seed. Saturday's victory was the fourth in the last five games for the Saints (18-8, 16-6 PBC) who will be the No. 4-seed in the league tourney.
Seniors Kacey Drayton and
Nyla Allen each scored 13 points to lead the Black & Gold. Drayton's scoring output is a career high, while Allen grabbed 13 rebounds as well for her seventh double-double of the season. Senior

Brandi Robinson scored two points and hauled in four rebounds for UNCP.
Flagler's leading scorer Bri Roberts poured in 15 points and Tiffany Hodge also logged a 15-point performance on 7-of-10 shooting. Hodge added 12 rebounds for a double-double, while Tabitha Odabe also put together a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.
With Flagler leading 8-3 and under 7:00 minutes to play in the first quarter, the guests rattled off a 13-0 run to extend the lead to 21-3 and never looked back. The Braves closed within 10 late in the fourth quarter, but went one for their last 10 from the field and not did make a field goal in the final 3:33.
The Braves will trek to Dahlonega, Georgia for the second time this season and do battle with No. 1-seed North Georgia in the PBC Quarterfinals on Wednesday. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. at the newly constructed UNG Convocation Center. The Nighthawks knocked off UNCP 63-50 on Dec. 30 and 70-57 on Feb. 11 in the two prior meetings this season.
