COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore
Raigan Evans turned in a toss of 14.49 meters to finish seventh in the Weight Throw Invite and highlight action for the UNC Pembroke track & field team amid final-day action of the South Carolina-hosted Gamecock Opener on Saturday.
Evan's mark was just 4.2 meters off of the pace of event champion Keturah Hunter of South Carolina State.
Jathan DeBerry also logged a top-10 finish in the High Jump Invite with a mark of 1.98.
On the men's side,
Caleb Baldwin placed 39
th and
Jamar Adams finished 42
nd in the 200m dash after both ran new personal-bests.
The Braves will close out its weekend competition tomorrow at the JDL January College Kick-off in Winston-Salem.
