WINSTON-SALEM – Freshman
Bradley Thompson recorded a jump of 1.94 meters to take runner-up honors in the High Jump and highlight the action for the UNC Pembroke track & field team at the JDL January College Kick-off on Sunday.
The Braves posted a strong showing in the High Jump with Thompson finishing second,
Forrest Powell taking third place (1.91 meters), and
Caleb Coles landing in fourth place with a jump of 1.91 meters.
On the women's side,
Alayna Richardson posted a fifth-place finish in the Pole Vault, clearing 3.10 meters.
Kelsi Sheldon also turned in a top-5 finish in the Shot Put with a toss of 12.10 meters.
The Black & Gold tallied 30 personal-best marks along with 14 top-10 finishes at the event.
The Braves will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., on January 31 for the two-day Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University.
