Free Throw Shooting Helps Augusta Slip Past Women’s Basketball

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Hot-handed Augusta converted on 52 percent of its field goal attempts in the second and finished the game with a 27-for-36 success rate from the free throw line to secure a 69-63 win over the UNC Pembroke women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The outcome marked the fifth loss in the last six road outings for the Braves (10-14, 5-11 PBC) who fell to 4-11 away from Pembroke with the setback as well. The Jaguars (9-15, 6-10), who stopped an eight-game losing streak at Francis Marion on Wednesday, have now won consecutive games for the first time since early January.
