WINSTON-SALEM –
Joshua Chepkesir broke his month-old school record in the 3000-meter by three seconds on the way to a top-10 finish in the event as the UNC Pembroke track & field teams finished out competition at the Camel City Invitational on Saturday.
Chepkesir, who previously broke the program mark in the 3,000-meter Run in the season opener in December, re-set the record with a time of 8:15.98 on Saturday.
On the women's side,
Micaiah Darity finished 10
th in the 60-meter dash qualifying section with a time of 8.22. Darity also logged a new personal best in the Triple Jump with a leap of 9.89 meters.
The Braves will travel back to the JDL Fast Track on Monday and Tuesday for the Queens Multi event. The first discipline is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
