GREENVILLE, S.C. – A solid finish to the 2020-21 indoor track & field season paid dividends with prognosticating Conference Carolinas head coaches on Wednesday as both the UNC Pembroke men's and women's teams were slated to finish in the runner-up spot for the 2021-22 campaign.
 
The women's team will enter the newest campaign as the defending conference champions after climbing to the top of the podium at the league championships in February. where they The result marked the second conference title for the women's squad who also took home top honors at the Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships during the 2019-20 season.
 
The men's team has logged top-3 finishes in each of its last two conference championships appearances. The Braves brought home a runner-up finish at the 2019-20 Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, and last season, UNCP placed third at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships. 
 
The Black & Gold will officially lift the lid on their 2021-22 indoor season when they compete at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off Classic on December 4. The two-day meet will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.
